During your makeup lesson at Ashby Artistry, we want to help you feel at ease and empowered. We will delve into various techniques to enhance your natural features and bring out your confidence.
From mastering the art of creating the perfect base to experimenting with eyeshadow colours that complement your eye shape, we will explore a wide range of makeup styles that suit your preferences and personality.

To make the most out of your makeup lesson and truly have a flawless experience, take a look at the advice below.

  • When getting ready for your makeup lesson with Ashby Artistry, ensure you arrive with a clean, fresh face - we need to see your natural complexion in order to anylise the colours that would work best and to identify any skin concerns you may have. It’ll also allow us to go over some skincare prep and priming to help you learn how best to pamper your skin prior to makeup application in order to get the best results every time.

  • Wear something fairly neutral to your makeup lesson. Or, if your makeup lesson is for a particular event which you already have an outfit for, why not bring it along to try on and refer to during the session. For makeup trials I often do with brides I always ask them to arrive in clothing of a similar shade to what they will be wearing on their wedding day. This is because colour can work in a whole manner of ways and to truly see your natural colouring and complexion, wearing something neutral can be the best way to easily identify your undertones and get an unbiased view of your final look.

  • Additionally, don't forget to bring along any makeup products you already have and would like to learn more about or incorporate into your routine. Whether it's a favorite lipstick shade or a new eyeshadow palette you've been wanting to try, having your products on hand will help us tailor the lesson to your preferences and needs. We know all too well that makeup can be very expensive, so using some products which you already own can be a great way to dip your toes into the makeup world without breaking the bank. After all, the tips you learn during your makeup lesson will be interchangeable no matter which products you use.

It’s also a great time to start asking yourself some questions about your typical lifestyle and beauty routine. Why you feel you need to have a makeup lesson and what are your goals? Consider these questions below and have a good think to make sure you are well-prepped with your needs and expectations prior to the lesson.

  • What are your current favourite makeup products? What lip products or mascaras do you love and is there a product you always wear when you want to feel your best?

  • Realistlically, how much time would you willingly spend doing your own makeup? We know it’s a luxury that most of us just don’t have much time for on a day to day basis.

We are laying the foundations to a tailored makeup routine and experience, so don’t worry if you feel you don’t get things right away - practise makes perfect. The techniques and tips shared during the session, will help you express your individuality through makeup with ease and flair. The knowledge and abilities gained from our lessons should not only boost your confidence but also inspire creativity in your makeup choices, allowing you to shine inside and out.

We look forward to guiding you into the world of makeup together and discovering the perfect tips and tricks for you!
